Emma Cook
The Tiny Turner
At the age of 36, Emma Cook is one of the youngest members of the Register of Professional Turners, and one of the few professional female woodturners working within the UK.
After initially being introduced to woodturning by her uncle and her younger brother, James, she soon caught the bug that was to drive her ambition towards having her own business which could reflect her devotion to becoming a professional wood artist.
Emma's bubbly, but dedicated professionalism, makes her one of every amateur woodturners favourite demonstrators. She broadcasts her demonstrations live from her workshop so that visitors can join in the fun. Each demonstration is then streamed on YouTube so that they can be watched at any time.
Many NLWA members now join in her live sessions and it is well worth subscribing to Emma's channel for advanced notice of her schedule. It is all free and great fun to participate in.
Emma broadcasts a live demo every other Saturday at 7.30pm. A growing number of NLWA members tune in and have a great time. Why don't you join us?
Carl Jacobson
A friend from the USA
Carl is an outstanding turner. His projects are always imaginative and unusual. If you are stuck for an idea for what to turn next then check out Carl's channel. Here are a few of his videos to give you a taster. It would seem that, if Carl can imagine getting something on his lathe then he'll have a go at turning it!
Phil Anderson
I enjoy turning natural pieces, mostly bowls. I try to leave as much nature in a piece as possible. Bark and bark inclusions, voids, cracks, are left alone for the most part. Though I've been turning for a few years I still consider myself to be in the learning stages. I would love it if you would come along for the ride. I'm sure we can share with each other what we have learned along the way.
Andy Philip
I try to make interesting pieces using different combinations of woods and resins , sometimes they work sometimes they don't !! Thanks for watching ...
I post work in progress pictures on Instagram if anyone's interested and sell some pieces via my website.

I got into pen turning and lathe work as a form of rehabilitation after suffering catastrophic life changing injuries as the result of contracting sepsis. I use the skills on the lathe as a form of strength building and as something to focus on for my mental well-being. I hope you enjoy any content i post on this channel and if you have any questions or comments please feel free to post them and I will try my best to get back to you as soon as possible.
